HELP PLEASEI want to work as a DJ (disc jockey) in local clubs? what can i do to start out?

i know 1st you need to have all the equipment but what else

1. u need music of all kinds, new and old, ull need to first start with local parties like backyard parties u need to get heard of so make business cards. try to go to radio station events,get to know more DJ's especially where the clubs u want to work u can meet the DJ's there Go to music stores like Guitar Center or Sam Ash

3. You don't actually need all the equipment. Most clubs have a set of equipment already there. The biggest thing is that you have to know how to DJ and be willing to do it for next to nothing. Heck, I have known people who did it for free; though they say that they do it for the glory. To start out, you just practice and DJ wherever people will let you. It's a lot of pavement pounding, but once you prove yourself a little, it will be less pavement pounding. Also, realize that almost all DJs do it part time and have another job on the side.
