Would you buy a used phone off craigslist? Are there knock off phones out there to be worried about?

I'm thinking about buying a myTouch or BlackBerry off of craigslist. I recently used my upgrade through the store but the phone was stolen. Since I don't have the upgrade discount I can't afford a new phone from the store.... What should I be worried about from buying off craigslist? I plan on taking my sim and trying out the phone before the purchase, but I'm still a little nervous.

1. I've bought many phones off craigslist. Most ppl are trustworthy with selling there used and new cell phones on craigslist.
