Trying to find a Job in Austin. Someone help me!?

I have a class A misdemeanor on my record so it is really hard to find a job in this city. I've applied to countless bars, restaurants, retail stores, etc. I'm on craigslist everyday. I have applied to every bar that has had a doorman position open and no one has called me back. I have a year and a half of experience as doorman at a nightclub too. Can someone please give me some pointers or help on how to get a job here in Austin.

1. If they don't call you then i suggest you call them.Just call and ask for the hiring manager and tell them you applied for their company and work like to know the status on your app.Look through the yahoo jobs too or monster.com,snagajob.com
2. Stop mentioning the misdemeanor, the applications only ask about felonies.
3. I think you should go to restaurants, retail stores,.. talk to people. There are lots of job not require a background check. You can apply online too. Below is the link with hundreds job listings, check it out. Good luck.
