SCAMMER?? Craigslist?

I saw an ad from Houston section in craigslist selling iphone for 3gs for $300. I contacted the guy and he said he is from North Carolina so he has to ship it. He would not accept paypal, because he said that he only accept paypal for transaction of more than 10 units. But he accepts a check and money order. The price is too attractive to be true, but since he is willing to disclose his contact information, I am reluctant to do it or not. He even offered a 25 day return policy. Anbody can help me out here??? I still am deciding whether this guy is a scammer so I can stay away.

  1. Anything too good to be true on craigslist, is. Do not send that fool any money. You will only get ripped off. Paypal is traceable, checks and money orders are not. He would of just happily cashed either and never sent you anything.
  2. Its a scam. The whole point of craigslist is to deal locally. I would have to say its almost certain its a scam. And usually when something sounds to good to be true, it is. I advise you to stay away. Not worth risking 300 dollars when your highly likely to get screwed on it. Better off playing the lottery. Because in my opinion you have better odds with that then with this guy giving you the iphone.
  3. I wouldn't trust him, if you dont have any contact information he can get away with anything. It's not worth the risk.
  4. If it sounds too good to be true,it probably is. I call scammer on him.
  5. Why is he advertising in Houston when he is from N. Carolina? Craigslist is made for local transactions. I would run, not walk, from this transaction.
  6. Do you really think a "25 day return policy" means anything? Stay Away. You've been warned. But if for some reason you don't want to stay away, I'll offer you the same 3G iPhone for the same price, let you pay me through paypal, and offer you a 90 day return policy. Feel free to email me.
