How do I get help from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)?

I was wondering how HUD works and how I can get some help. I will be a singal mom in december and I need a home for me and my baby girl

1. Ms TO: a bit more data is necessary. IF you seek $ help, Section 8 homes and apts are available. if you need a loan, your bank or credit union is available if I am missing something, plz inform me
2. You go to your local housing authority and apply. If you are approved then they will pay all or part of your rent.
3. They have a website. http://www.hud.gov They aren't going to be providing you a home in Dec though, it can take years to obtain housing from them. I read your other questions, you will not qualify for housing on 2 counts. One, it is not student housing, you can not be a student. Two, you have to work, at least 30 hours a week. HUD helps people, it is not there to support you.
