What can I expect from my first NC Unemployment Eligibility Review?

I'm to appear at the Employment Security Commission for an "Eligibility Review" on December 22nd, and I'm to bring my work search records. Thankfully, I've dutifully kept an Excel spreadsheet of who I've been sending resumes to.:-) My question is this: How many employers are they going to call from my list? What if the employers they contact can't find my resume? Should I send all the employers a heads-up to expect a call from the NCESC? Also: I've never been to an "eligibility review" before. I'd like to know what to expect. What has your experience been with "eligibility reviews"?

  1. I don't think they are going to call companies to check if you called or sent them resume. That's absurd. Employers get thousands of resumes daily and won't remember any particular individual. They just need to make sure you're looking for a job and haven't turned down any offers. Good thing you kept all your search records, also bring your resume. If you are working with recruiters, then it would be a good idea to have their names. Recruiters are typically more intuned with your searches.
  2. Nope, they spend a minute or two to glance at your work search, just to make sure you actually have one, then do a little typing on their computer and you are done! I've have like 3 of them now. They dont call anyone or keep your records, not even copy it or anything. They just want to see you, thats all Lol. Good luck finding work!
