Im thinking about moving to Florida from San Diego.I What part should I move to if I surf?
One of biggest things about moving is I love to surf. What parts of Florida are the best to live for someone who surfs? If you could tell me the county and everything because im trying to check craigslist for apartments and jobs and I have to choose the area.Thank You

- why would you do that if you love to surf? florida is no match for san diego in the quality surf department. no offense to the floridians, it's just a fact.
- The sebastian inlet area gets alot of waves, relatively speaking. there's nothing else there though unless you can live with fishing and hunting all the time. New smyrna is probably the most consistent area, but the shark factor is huge there. I've also heard St. Augustine gets pretty good waves, but i've never surfed up there. If i were you, i wouldn't move unless you HAD to and if you have to don't go below martin or brevard county
- The most consistent part of the coast is North East Florida to Central East Florida (which isn't saying much) Jacksonville to Sebastian Inlet. Jacksonville Beach (Atlantic Beach, Mayport Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach) is a rapidly developing town with a good surf scene and Jobs. Flagler Beach is a small town with decent waves. Daytona Beach/ Port Orange has waves. (Shhhh....Ponce Inlet on the right swell is better than Sebastian Inlet.) New Smyrna Beach is the most consistent in Florida. These are just some, there are more spots from Melborn to Vero Beach as well. Florida isn't known for its surf, but the beach breaks on a good day are really fun.
- I'm a Floridian and I would suggest Jacksonville Beach, the Poles has great surf and it is comparable to California on a good swell... Also, the pier has a great break on both sides, if I were to give you a second choice either New Smyrna where you will more than likely be nibbled on by a shark or Sebastian Inlet, also Ft. Pierce is good... Don't even go near South Florida though, it sucks ass down there... We have bad surf but recently we've been getting really good waves.... 5-6ft. and clean on some days....
- Depends on what your looking for Big waves or small waves for big waves you would want to live upcoast in Florida like St. Augustine has amazing waves. Another upcoast is Sunglow. For smaller waves, there is Cocoa Beach, Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton Inlet. Hope this helps =)
