Job hunting in San Diego, CA. PLEASE HELP?

I've spent the last month trying to get a job. Any job. I have spent countless hours filling out apps online, tweaking my resume for hours each time I send it to a different company. I've tried getting a nanny job, with an agency and craigslist and other sites. No one responds back, people flake out. I call back inquiring on the status on my app for other companies and it never turns into an interview much less a response. What do I do? I guess I can't get unemployment, because my last job was as a part time nanny and it was in the form of a personal check. Do I apply for welfare or anything? I've sold pretty much anything I could. Who is hiring? I don't care what it is. Stocking shelves at Ralphs at 2am? Anything. Am I supposed to just go live on the streets? I've borrowed from a friend and I feel guilty asking again. Bills do not seem to care when you call and explain you are unemployed still.

  1. Call up ur creditors and negotiate a repayment plan on ur cards cuz obviously ur having financial hardship right now. Look into housing assistance such as welfare, section 8, or whatever they R called down in SD. There's nothing wrong resorting to that in this economy. Hope u find sumthing soon!! Goodluck!
  2. You may want to consider moving ... Cal has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation. Use your background skills to start a business. You are obviously articulate...perhaps telemarketing, some type of sales?
