What are the circumstances a person would move from housing benefit on to local housing allowance?
If you move into another rented property when you have been on housing benefit for a few years would you automatically move on to LHA or are there circumstances where you won't? Because this person is excellent in dealing with a tight budget and doesn't waste money on drink and cigarettes. Stop been cynical about people when you haven't a clue as to the whys and wherefores of theit situation

- How can someone who needs this afford Internet access?
- Yes all new claims are for LHA not housing benefit.
- LHA means local housing allowance its the way in which yr housing benefit is calculated. if u google LHA u can find yr local councils rates online. as an example my LHA is £300 per week as i live in an expensive town and im a divorced mum with 3 children. as i am working they take off a portion of the LHA which is what i receive in housing benefit. If ur on income support or similar u will receive thefull amount. if yr rent is lower than what ur entitled to then u can only receive yr rent +£15. this was brought in to encourage people to find cheaper properties to rent. hope this helps.
