What will you do if Armies (USA) force you stop worship God?
I read this and just wonder if ....Acts 8:3 Saul, though, began to deal outrageously with the congregation. Invading one house after another and, dragging out both men and women, he would turn them over to prison. If they are doing this same thing like Saul and his crews doing this. So will you quit worship God?

- No one can stop you from worshiping. No one can read your mind.
- They literally can't. Only those who want a Christian government (Dominionists) spread such nonsense.
- keep reading...Saul became Paul. the military will never make me stop worshiping my God.
- That would be unconstitutional and highly unlikely to ever happen. That being said, I'm an atheist but I'd fight for freedom of religion for my fellow theist citizens.
- I'd be violently against such a horrid act, I may be an atheist but I believe people have a right to believe in whatever they want. Such is a liberty I'd never relinquish.
- Nothing they can do can make me untrue to my God.
- You would be safe in Canada.
- I have my mind. God will always be in my mind and if they'll kill me I'll die in the name of Jesus. Amen.
- It's amazing that Saul, supposedly a champion of Orthodoxy and contemporary of Jesus, never ran into him when he was busy preaching his supposedly heretical teachings up and down Palestine. The U.S. Army is pretty pro-religion, Christianity specifically, so this hypothetical isn't terribly related to reality.
- Where do you get such silly ideas?
- They would not do such a thing, a secular nation is not pro-atheist nor pro-christian I am thankful to say.
- "And the ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire.’”—Revelation 17:15, 16. Official government opposition has tremendously reduced the influence of religion in lands such as the former Soviet Union and China. In Protestant sectors of Europe, widespread apathy and doubt have emptied the churches, so that religion is practically dead. The vast Catholic empire is torn by rebellion and disagreement, which her leaders have been unable to calm. It will be worldwide and with the help of the United nations. The weak will cease to worship. The strong will be persecuted until God put an end to it.
- You mean "if they try" to force me to stop worshiping Jehovah God. IT CAN'T HAPPEN. They can stop some public aspects of my worship (i.e., freely meeting together publicly at our Kingdom Halls, obvious preaching from door to door) that's about it. We as Jehovah's Witnesses will still meet together to encourage one another in unobtrusive ways. Also, we will witness to others discreetly, etc. edit: Edoedo - Judging from many of your answers, a lot of people find this highly unlikely. Many will be surprised and caught off guard should this scenario unfold.
- Worshiping 'God' is a sign of an unbeliever!
- no. it's impossible for them to stop someone from worshipping. But I wouldn't lie and say that I stopped. I'd take whatever punishment. I don't wanna even lie saying that I don't believe. And I wouldn't wnat not to believe. I'd say that I still believed and I'd take the punishment.
- Edoedo, fear of man is a real possibility. BUT If we make it our business to go to every meeting and service every week...and study our personal study we will be in a position to stick to the organization and close to Jehovah. We have to be confident that Jehovah will protect us and if we do lose our lives we will have the promise of the resurrection. No man can take away our faith...and no matter what they do to us or our family Jehovah will restore us. When you see these things start to happen Edoedo we will know our deliverance is near. deb
- *GRIN* this seems familiar, I read this today also. *wink* No one can stop us from worshiping our God Jehovah. There are countless examples even today of those whose Government persecuted them for being Christian, not only Jehovah's Witnesses. Go look at the past year books of Jehovah's Witnesses and you'll see how true followers of Jesus Christ deal with it. We do respect government because God has it in place and there are benefits, but when in contradiction with God's laws, we must obey God as ruler rather than men. EDIT:: Good point debbie! Making the effort to attend all meetings is vital to keep our spiritual strength and be up to date on things that are happening. Also Lifelong Bible Student: Great answer as well.
- They can try but no one can tell you what to believe.
- You can stop loving someone or caring for them or standing for them if you are threatened, then the only love there is for yourself. Christ did not give in to the threats and temptations to save himself. He NEVER denied me. Romans 8:35 Who will separate us from the love of the Christ? Will tribulation or distress or persecution or hunger or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 Just as it is written: “For your sake we are being put to death all day long, we have been accounted as sheep for slaughtering.” 37 To the contrary, in all these things we are coming off completely victorious through him that loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers 39 nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. " He NEVER backed out or used fear or excuses. How could I do that to him. How could I do that to HIS FATHER. I cannot. I could in fact EASILY say "forgive them Father they don't know what they are doing" Just like Jesus did for me, and for Jehovah. How can you deny someone or stop loving them because of threats? Then it wasn't love.
- My husband tried to beat it out of me. it did not work. No one will stop me. I am devoted to the death. I've been in prison, that was nice compared to my husbands torture chambers of fun, you cannot beat it out of me , you cannot drug it out of me, You cannot torture it out of me, It has never worked on god's faithful and it never will.Trusting with all my heart, I will not yield. Our god supports us in times like these and where I have been, I am prepared at all times for repeat performances before the heavens.Singing in my heart all the way.And if it is to be the time to go to rest, Hallelujah for " He will call..."
- Being in a situation like that should being you even closer to Jehovah God. They/people can put you in prison, even take your life, but no one, and I do mean no one, can make you stop worshiping Jehovah God. Many have tried through out the years, and yet, none has succeeded totally.
- they can try, but I would never stop worshiping Jehovah God. look at our brothers and sisters when they where taking to the camps with hitler. they wanted the brothers and sisters to stop worshiping Jehovah and to worship hitler. they rather die and many did before they would stop worshiping Jehovah. I would rather die then stop worshiping Jehovah
- ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! DEATH BEFORE DISOBEDIENCE!!! We know that that God can ressurect those who choose to serve him even to death. Just like Jesus, we will die before we forsake our belief in God.
