is it illegal to wear a us army cameo if you aren't in the army?
my dads friend gave him an army cameo that a friend of his left over at his house and my dad wants to know if it's illegal or not. Personally i think it's a bad idea because it could be considered offensive and because then he might give the impression that he is and people might stop and thank him for his service. can you give me your opinion on this topic as well as an answer on if it's illegal. thx =] oh and it's a pair of pants and a jacket sorry i mean a button down shirt

- illegal? no, but don't do it
- The word is "camo" as in camouflage. No it is not currently illegal to wear, but it might be illegal to pose as military or police if you are not. As long as he doesn't try to pass himself off as something like that he can wear camo as he likes. He can even pretend to be a veteran but that would just be in poor taste if he is not.
- It's not illegal IF he takes off all the tags..name, rank, US Army, ect. Might be considered impersonating a government worker other wise.
- Cameo? It is not illegal to do a cameo, the question is on what show (unless it violates copyrights)? ;)
- As long as he takes everything like tags rank and everything that states what service it is than he is fine. I know people wear regular camo to airsoft and paintball matches all the time. It's not illegal but it is to pose as something you are not.
- As others have said, as long as he doesn't wear the insignia, or pose as a service member, it's okay.
- yea if the uniform still has the name rank and unit insignia your just makign yourself a target for terrorists.
- It can have no patches that would let people assume he was in the military. This is impersonating military personnel and is also a violation of heraldry laws.
