Has anyone in New York used a service called No Fee Rental By Owner. If so, how was your experience with them.

I am getting ready to move from Manhattan to Brooklyn and I do not want to pay a fee like I did when I first moved here. I have been checking Craigslist and then I saw this service called No fee Rental by owner. Basically, they provide you a list of current vacancies and the phone number for the super/building owners. I am just wondering if anyone has used this service and if so, are they legit? Does anyone have any other recommendations?

2. I've never used this service before, but there are some other options available to you: - Rent-direct.com - This website is similar to NFRBO, and requires you to pay a membership fee. I haven't used them personally but a lot of other people seem to have. - Craigslist no-fee & by-owner sections - There's been a lot of complaints about brokers posting bogus listings in these sections, but if you've got the time, it's still worth it to look through. - http://www.flyrig.com - Check out the "No-Fee" section of this craigslist competitor. - nybits.com - These are listings posted by building managers, so you can rent these without using a broker
