Short term apartment rentals in Damascus/Amman?

I'll be travelling to the Middle East for the next couple of months and hoping to base myself in Damascus, Syria. Does anyone have any suggestions/knows any decent websites to find short term apartment rentals? Thanks.

1. Damascus , Syria is cheaper and much better in terms of historical sites and cheaper apartments . Make sure you visit Lebanon Via Zahle. Syrian are nice people they might even take you to their homes for Tea and chat all day long lol , Just say Assad is Mn7 and all is good there :p Amman is expensive, sadly. Check out Petra, Salt and Wadi Rum
2. The best places are not found on the Internet but found once you get to Damascus. If you ask around in the old city you will likely find a decent place within a week tops as there are many available to rent, don't be afraid of bargaining either as the first quote is rarely the best. One place you might start is at a little hostel called Damascus Hostel, where I stayed last year, the people are fantastic and will be a good place to base yourself in while looking (and I think they also have an apartment for rent nearby - the hostel is in the heart of the old city in the Christian section). 3. As I used to live in Jordan and now in Syria I can tell you that Jordan is sheeper in appartments, In Syria: it depends on Area ;from 2000USD /month - 200USD /month most Europians preffer to rent in Bab Tuma cuz it is,christian quarter, old, cheap and full of resturants and bars. If you are alone I suggest also to stay in a 4stars hotel in Albahsa(down town ) like Aliwan hotel about 30USD/Night you can contact me upon arrival as I have some Europian friends they will help you +963966881954 good luck
