what type of education would be best for a career as a dental hygienist?
Im 26 with plenty of time on my hands in a dead end job. i havent been in a classroom in about 7 yrs. and leaning toward becoming a dental hygienist because of the pay, but what would be my best option for schooling: A tech college like Western career college or a city college.

- Do not become a dental hygienist. Jobs are really hard to find as a DH right now. I became a DH in 2008 and only work 1 day a week! I can't support myself as a DH. AND I found out after graduating that most DH jobs offer NO BENEFITS. Meaning no health insurance, no sick days, no vacation days. So I suggest you look into nursing, surgical assistant, or radiology technician and not DH.
