- It depends on what your career and educational goals are. If you want to go to a 4-year university and pursue a professional career then community college is the way to go. If you want to be a auto mechanic, lab technician, dental hygienist, type jobs then career college. career colleges are about TEN times the cost of community college. I was a contractor for Delta College.....great school and VERY beautiful campus for being located in Stockton.
- the best thing for you to do is attend the two years of community college which gets the required courses out of the way toward any degree you have the option of elective courses that will apply to your career goal which will transfer over to a college a college is usually a four yr institution after completing you will have a degree of some sort you also will probably have an AA from the community college and that is fine Freshmen in a big college are at a definite disadvantage and it is harder to accomplish but once you have those 1st two years(of community college) under your belt, things are lots better at the 4yr
- Just about the only difference between a community college and career college is the cost ;) One may 'get a career' by attending a community college for the required (or minimum) education (though no amount of education guarantees a job but much more likely especially in this day and age). The community college is usually a fraction of the price of a career/tech college which is why it's much more practical to attend the local community college as opposed to those private $$ tech schools. Please steer clear of those online, for-profit schools such as penn foster, strayer, university of phoenix, kaplan, walden, ITT tech, ashworth, sanford brown, devry, capella and others as they are merely out to 'make a profit' (and credits may not transfer): http://www.ripoffreport.com and can type into search.
