How can new york seniors find activity partners?
i started a yahoo group for senior citizens who are not necessarily looking for some social group, but would like a pool of others who are offering or willing to join in activities with others - going to a gallery, shopping, hearing a talk in a bookstore. i want to populate it with seniors and ideas http://groups.yahoo.com/group/letsdosomething-nycseniors/join most of the few people who have signed up are from here or craigslist - i tried meetup too to no avail - anyone know how i can populate my group?

- Well, the only time I ever was in New York City I went down to Times Square one night and I was approached by quite a few people who wanted to be activity partners. I didn't especially care to indulge in any of the activities that they suggested so I went into a bar, had a shot of whiskey and went back to my hotel. It sure was nice to get back on The Fritter Ranch after that trip. I even went and apologized to my pigs for some unkind things that I had said to them in the past and I told them how much more human that I thought they were then some of the humans that I met on that trip. I can't denigh that out here on the ranch at some times of the year things get pretty out of hand and you really don't want to be around some of these animals with grand kids when things start getting that way cause you might not be too good at explaining things to kids. I sure ain't. I'm afraid that I just add to their confusion. It's one thing to explain " the birds and the bees" and it's another thing to show them and then have to explain it all. Good luck New Yorkers, and take that for coming down here a hundred and forty-five years ago. "Forget, Hell. "
- Are there any senior centers where you could leave a posting. Or at a supermarket bulletin board. (the real kind not on-line). Our rather colorful Times Square has been cleaned up - and didn't really represent all New Yorkers any more than - 'all farmers wear suspenders and chew on straw'. .
