low income housing in new york?
I am trying to move into an apartment in Brooklyn , or Manhattan, you always hear about these low income housing, but it seems impossible for me to find them. Does anyone have any legit sites or directories that actually help you to get into a decent apartment in the city, or any info at all if you know someone who is renting out their apartment. I didnt think it would be this hard trying to start out living independently. I tried craigslist.org, but there are people who stay by the computer all day, to the point it is always too late when you try to respond to the listings because 100 people already beat you to it.

- Low income housing in NYC work as a lottery. You can tell if you are getting one . You just have to check newspaper for the announcements and check the website on a monthly basis. You have to be fast because they have a dead line for sending applications. The website is http://www.nychdc.com. But remember there is no way that you can tell if you are going to have it. You just need luck. My best friend got one in Times Square a top of the line building, very cool!!! So check how lucky you are. By the way my luck have to be under zero!!! try and never got any call Good luck!!!
