Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on the fact that the bible has been SCIENTIFICALLY right, before many scholars. Here are some examples: The earth is round The Bible indicates that the earth is round. One verse we can look at is Isaiah 40:22, where it mentions the “circle of the earth.” From space, the earth always appears as a circle since it is round. This matches perfectly with the Bible. Another verse to consider is Job 26:10, where it teaches that God has “inscribed” a circle on the surface of the waters at the boundary of light and darkness. This boundary between light and darkness is where evening and morning occur. The boundary is a circle since the earth is round. A very interesting verse to consider is Job 26:7, which states that God “hangs the earth on nothing.” The Bible indicates in several places that the universe has been “stretched out” or expanded. For example, Isaiah 40:22 teaches that God stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. This would suggest that the universe has actually increased in size since its creation. God is stretching it out, causing it to expand. -- Most astronomers today believe that the universe is indeed expanding. In the 1920s, astronomers discovered that virtually all clusters of galaxies appear to be moving away from all other clusters; this indicates that the entire universe is expanding. There are many more of these theories, such as evidence of dinosaurs in the bible,comets, etc. There are many sites, search on google. Just wanted to know people's thoughts on this, and how they can argue this is wrong? Just examples - from a book by the way. Search on Google and read some more - just wanted to know thoughts. Also, to those who disregard any information from the bible, I'm curious to know their views on things such as how humans are here in the first place?

Ah, nice, vague generalities which aren't even accurate. You should be a lawyer. As far as searching on google, please tell me you don't simply believe everything you read online without checking the source. Edit: Humans are the product of evolution. Go take a biology class about it. And before you say "oh, you just think that because you've never read the amazing bible!" I have read the bible, and it was not amazing. At all.

If the Bible insists that the world is, indeed, spherical, then why does it also say that if you go to a high enough mountain you can see all the kingdoms of Earth laid out below you? Apologetics make me cringe at the amount of dishonesty and basic ignorance they invoke to explain things.
1. The earth is NOT round, it's an oblate spheroid. The biblical quotation clearly implies that it is a flat disk. 2. The "stretching out" that is referred to here is that of unfolding or unwinding a piece of cloth or leather used as part of a desert-dwellers tent, so the cloth is stretched across a framework, It has nothing to do with an expanding universe.
A circle is not a sphere. What does your Bible say about the Sun revolving around the Earth? How many people were torched for questioning this and other scientific orders? Science is real. I will try to be polite even though this question strikes me the same way the Muslims propaganda machine works... That said I will tell you the truth flesh and blood (physical things do not prove God! God is an eternal spirit and his truth is revealed through the spirit. Those seeking physical proof are missing the point.
Hmm... tenuous at absolute best. The periodic motion of the planets would have made it obvious to anyone that observed the sky that circles were important. The real leap is between a disc and a sphere. The 'light boundary' is a reference to a very simply observation of the sunrise/sunset over the sea, as far as I can tell. The other Job verse also says that 'he stretches out the north over the empty place', which I cannot fathom. The 'stretching out' of a tent is a one time thing - you stretch it out when you erect it. The universe is in a continual state of expansion. Sorry, don't buy these examples myself.

A circle is a two-dimensional object. When you're on a flat plain looking toward the horizon the earth looks like a circle. There is a word in the Bible, usually translated as "ball," that refers to a three-dimensional object. It's not the word used in Isaiah 40:22. Evening and morning occur not at one boundary but in a continuous circle as the earth rotates. That verse shows total ignorance of the rotation of the earth. There's one verse that says the earth hangs on nothing and several that talk of the pillars the earth rests on. What was God telling those who wrote about pillars? Lies? A tent covers an area as shelter. There's no reasonable way to get an expanding universe out of a stretched tent. You're grasping at straws.
