I am a girlfriend of a U.S. Army Soldier. Can I go live with him if we got married, and go to school?

Im 17 and he is 18. We have been together for 2 years and he has been in the Army for a little over 6 months. He arrived at his duty station today and he is going to be getting his own house with his battle buddy, Kelsey. If we get married in December( No need to mention parental consent, I've got it), can I go live with him and his friend, and go to school? I'd really appreciate it if no one says anything about the chances of our relationship lasting. Or anything along those lines. There is no way anyone can change my mind in what I want to do. If I am making a mistake then so be it, but please don't try and stop me from finding out. Oh and Jellybelly... You apperently dont know much. In CT its legal for 16 year olds to get married as long as I have parental consent.

  1. first of all you can't get married because you're not legal. if you do it somehow anyway he will get kicked out. ask again when you are 18 ps: your relationship won't last because he will find someone else who isnt a moron -edit- ps: idiot, it doesn't matter what state you live in or what state you get married. the military has it's own rules and they say that you can't get married to your boyfriend because you are a CHILD. and NO you will not be able to live with him in his off base housing that it paid for by him and his roommate. also, consider the fact that he may not even want your leeching ass to live with him without paying rent.
  2. if you're married you can live with him either in on base housing or on the economy. College is up to you. There are, however, lots of programs to help cover your TA. As for your age: i married my high school sweetheart right after AIT (i was 18, she was 17. We went to Germany and are still together after 18 years. Don't let anyone tell you it can't happen because it can. It's a lot of work and you need to be prepared for military life. But it CAN work. Good luck
  3. So when you say finish school do you mean finish HS? Well then, your parents need a swift kick for permitting their underage daughter for marrying and for not taking a responsible interest in your education. I met my husband when I was 21, and I didn’t marry him till I was 24. He has been an AD Marine for almost 16 years. He has considerably more stability than your newly enlisted BF and we still have had to adjust to the hectic military life. You know why I waited 3 years till I got married? I wanted my college degree under my belt before I got married. Have some pride in yourself to get educated. Be more than just a “teen” wife. You aren’t going to take my advice, but I hope it all works out for you. Too many girls have a romanticized view on marriage, and it is not realistic. If you two are meant to be together, then waiting a year or so will not kill you. Here come the thumbs downs….. PS: When you do graduate HS utilize this scholarship for dependents to start your education. $6,000 bucks. https://aiportal.acc.af.mil/mycaa/default.aspx Also utilize the base education center to find out your options.
  4. Once you get married, he will get BAH and will be authorize to move out of the barracks. If he gets a house, he should get it with you because you will be his wife. And yeah you can go to school
  5. If your talking about going to High school, there was a girl on the base that I lived on who got married at 16 and had a kid, and finished her last 2 years in high school and graduated. I don't see why it would be a problem. As long as you have your own car to get you there and back. The military doesn't really care what you do with your free time, just what your husband does.
  6. See you back on here in 2 years looking for divorce advice and how much BAH he is supposed to give you during the separation. Trust me, you are going to be another statistic. Just like the other young couples who said "you can't talk me out of marriage"
  7. wow some people are rude okay do what you want and what you feel is right for you, asking people a question only you can answer for yourself only resolves in people giving there opinion on the situation at hand so i can only give you some advice though you are only 17 you have a long time i met my now husband when i was 16 got pregrant at 17 got married at 19 and its hard soo wait wait wait finish school
  8. Getting married doesn't bother me. What does is the fact that you are going to move in with him and his buddies. Do realize what that means. People stiffing you on the rent.Trash every where, fast food containers, continuous streams of beer bottles and the woman.Need I say more I wouldn't want to start my marriage out like that. I would wait only to be able to save enough money so that we could have our own place.
