Help! Help! Can someone PLEASE help me with my math homework?

Can someone please solve these 4 word problems. Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssssssseeeeeeeee??????????? (#1 is the hardest so if you want to do that last) (Also, the lesson that we did in class that this homework is based on is working backwards, but you can use any method to solve it) #1 - Maunel's term paper is due on March 31. He began doing research on March 1. He intends to continue doing research for 3 times as long as he has done already. Then he will spend a week writing the paper and the remaining 3 days typing. What day is it? (Assume he will finish typing on March 30) #2 - A disk jockey must allow time for 24 minutes of commercials every hour, along with 4 minutes for news, 3 minutes for weather, and 2 minutes for public - service announcements. If each record lasts an average of 3 minutes, how many records per hour can the DJ play? #3 - Margaret is reading the 713 - page novel War and Peace. When she has read twice as many pages as she has read already, she will be 119 pages from the end. What page is she on now? #4 - On Monday the low temperature at the South Pole dropped 9 degrees F from Sunday's low. On Tuesday it fell another 7 degrees, then rose 13 degrees on Wednesday and 17 degrees more on Thursday. Friday it dropped 8 degrees to -50 degrees F. What was Sunday's low temperature? Thanks!

  1. 1: Typing will be 28, 29, 30th March. Writing will be 21-27th March. He is 1/4 of the way from March 1 to March 20. He has done 5 days and has 15 days to go, so it's the end of day March 5th or start of day March 6th. #2: 60 - 24 - 4 - 3 - 2 = 60 - 24 - 9 = 27 minutes left. Divide by 3: 9 songs. #3: 713 - 119 = 594. Pages read so far + (same amount to total twice as many read) = 594 594/2 = 297. (Another interpretation would be that she is 1/3 of the way to page 594, and will read 2/3 more to get there, which is twice as many as read so far. In that case she is on page 198). #4 Sunday - 9 - 7 + 13 + 17 - 8 = -50 Sunday + 6 = -50 Sunday = -56 Or work backwards: -50 + 8 - 17 - 13 + 7 + 9 = Sunday
