How can I become a DJ and what are the things I need?

Im 19 years old and I love music. I really want to become a disc jockey but i don't know where to start. I currently own Virtual DJ and I used it to practice a bit. Where should I start? I needs tips on how to become a DJ, any ideas are welcome. Thanks!! Oh, are there any other free dj software that i can download too aside from virtual dj?

1. I'm a DJ - as you're taling abut free software I downloaded PCDJ VJ from a torrent site, I don't know if you are taling about club DJing, I'm just a mainstream party DJ. So just download a load of the style of music you play, and build a collection. I would also download any songs people requested that I didn't have.
2. yes you go to court to have your name become DJ
3. You need a lot of mp3s. That's all really. Talk to some night clubs and they may let you have a spot one night.
