what's kind of equipment will i need to start a small Disk Jockey business?

I need some nice equipment to start a small DJ business.I need to know what type of equipment will i need and what size speakers and amps would i use to cover most events.Technology has changed so much and I would like to upgrade my current equipment to at least keep up with competition.Can someone give me a idea on what i will need to get the party jumping?

1. I don't know all the techinical terms, but i know from what I see nowadays, they are using laptops and speakers. Everything is done on the computer now! Less to lug around and easier to manage. You can set up 3 - 4 hour playlists!
