How can I stop calls even though my telephone number is on the National Do Not Call List?

I am still getting annoying calls and I would like to stop this.

1. use an answering machine or caller id and don't answer if you don't recognize the number
2. If its really that bad, get a new phone number! Make sure it's unlisted too...
3. call the people or answer the phone and tell them that you want them to stop calling, and that you will consider it harassment if they continue... they have to stop by law. If they call again write down the time and who called, (ph# person's name, organisation) and inform them that you have already informed them to stop calling...if it happens again, continue the log the facts and file a complaint with your police
4. Get call screen and screen the number out or get caller rejection...usually solicitors call private and if you get caller rejection it blocks all private calls and unknown callers...call screen you screen out the number of the person you don't want calling you. Call your local phone company and tell them that your on a do not call list but you keep getting calls they should be able to help..
