What is the best way to get very very cheap furniture(bed) in Chicago?
I'm sleeping in a sleeping bag in my very first apartment, and I'd really like a bed. What's the best way to get one for as cheap as possible? Good flea markets, anyone? I've tried craigslist, but I haven't found anything good, and I don't understand how to work freecycle.

- Look on-line to find a local auction you can attend (not an on-line auction). You can find some great bargains and pay only what you can afford to pay.
- Go to Ikea. They have the bed frames as well as matress! Very cheap for furniture stores! You can go to Ikea.com to get some pricing ideas and there is an Ikea store in the suburbs, but not too far from the city. Also you should try a twin sized bed to start out cause it's way cheaper!
- Best Eh? Wait till move out day ... large apartment tenants often trash beds - Usually newer ones! Checking with the Office first may not work anymore due to legal technicalities. Word of Mouth is also good... Worked for us and friends of ours. We were offered three sets after we received ours.
