Where can I get a job in the bay area?

I'm moving to Alameda/bay area like every other schmoe out there (though I hear oregon is another spot that lemmings like myself are congregating to). I have experience as a writer for various publications, run a humorous observation blog (http://seafoodpunch.com) that I dont tell too many employers about but I can obviously work with the internet and social networking sites. I've got experience with graphics, sciences... but....alas...no job. sigh. it is getting depressed and I'm worried that I may have to start flipping burgers and selling drugs to make rent. Any ideas? I'm starting to get anxiety attacks every time a day goes by without a phone call. I've applied with Appleone Employment Services, Monster (worthless), look at craigstlist...but nothing. booo

1. Are you serious? CA has 12.5% unemployment state wide. The rental properties are high. For a writer, you might want to read the publications to find out where the work is. You might be blogging but you are not really aware of what is really happening out of your box.
