Can I Sell 1960's Gas Oven/Range?
We've recently purchased a home, and are currently remodeling the kitchen. We've inherited a 1960's 35" Kenmore gas range/oven/griddle/rotiss... combo. It was functional until we disconnected it from the gas line to remodel. Our realtor told us he thought we could sell it for $$$$. Is this kind of thing valuable? Should we put an advertisement in the classifieds section/Craigslist? If so, for what price? Is it junk, and should we just sell to the local metal recycler? Can I get any money out of it, and how much?

- I would have a trustworthy antique dealer appraise it before you do anything...and then sit on it for a while to make sure that antique dealer isn't trying to scam you on the quote...they are quite valuable...just spent over 2 grand on a 1942 San Francisco model...
- i would try to do the classified/ebay/craigs route, but if that doesnt work and you really want to get rid of it, you may want to try something a little unconventional. Try looking up a movie prop company. They may take it for use in a 1960's period movie/tv show. I talked to a couple people who unloaded their old stuff like that. One uy had a couple old Singer sewing machines that they took. It may seem weird but try it!
- Since your realtor has the bright ideas, sell it to him.:)) I throw away ranges that are from the 90's. there is no inherent value.
