How can I make low-cost typography art?
I love the Bryan Adams quote on canvas posted on the Frugal Girl website (via Apartment Therapy): http://frugaldesigngirl.com/category/cool-finds/ ...and would like to make my own art, low-cost, that is more personal. Any ideas? If you have other personal favorites, great art ideas to make, please share!

- That's not so much typography as it's word art... which could make things easier and less expensive. You'll need to invest in a canvas for a project like that. Larger ones that are thicker are usually expensive. You can find cheaper ones by buying used. You just use a product called gesso to cover and retexture the paint on the used canvas. Then you can use acrylics to recreate that painting w/ a more personal quote. If you want to try typography, maybe print a couple sets of alphabets of your favorite font in a large point size (at least 300pt) then cut the individual letters out and spell out your words. You can use them as a template for painting letters and then you will also have dimension to your canvas.
