Could I be a DJ... (16)?

This is my situation; i'm 16 and where i'm from (Melbourne, Australia) has a growing club scene... it's getting pretty big and i've sort of followed the dj's music for the past year or so. It's pro-dominantly house and minimal tech that i'm interested in... I've been in a club and seen how they operate (yes, i have a mate that is ahead promoter) and i wana be a fcuking disc jockey!!! I have mucked around with some 800's and 1000's with house music of course, and i loved it. I'm gona get a job soon to mainly save up for either a car or decks. Have i left it to late to dj? i could probably get decks by the start of next year? Practice for 10 months, then try hit the clubs... anyway what's your take on the whole dj thing, is it worth the thousands$? and what you think of house/minimal/electro deejay's? thanks everyone... :D x0x0
