Can a far-away college student get a summer job in Chicago?

I applied for a dream (unpaid) internship in Chicago and got it. However, I go to college in New England and have no way of looking for a job to support myself and pay rent. What is the smartest way to go about getting a summer job there that is NOT Craigslist? Is there anyone that goes to U of Chicago or another college resource that would be willing to let me search their Career Services listings (or share their login info) that are reserved for college students there? Thank you! :)

1. There are no jobs for anyone in Chicago people who have been working for years are still getting laid off at an increasing rate.
