Dont let the government hiring of thousands of people to work the census jobs, fool you about the drop?

of unemployment in next few months. Do you agree with my belief that this administration will show unemployment is dropping when these government jobs are filled?

1. They may say they were saved from last census
2. They are paying quite excessively for these jobs too. Minimum wage is $7.50 something... these jobs are an average of $20+ per hour.
3. They play with the numbers constantly - why they even included outsourced jobs as part of the employment figures - everything to put lipstick on this pig of a 'recovery'.
4. I believe you are correct. I also know that when the Congress took over administration of the Census, they made that organization a political arm of the party in power, and boy that is wrong, wrong, wrong. It opens the door to abuse at a minimum, and opens the door to rather radical actions that could initially limit, and then destroy our Government. All of it is bad, bad business... and tell someone, or enjoy the authoritarianism that is surely headed our way. http://www.congress.org
5. Yea they need 1 million people, that should have an impact on the unemployment percentage. Those jobs are expected in end by July though. So, unless they find a way to keep them a little longer, there was also be another negative impact in July when they let those people go. How will the play it? THey will praise the drop in unemployment now and credit the stimuls bill. When the jobs go away in July, they will credit the census for the jobs going away.
6. The unemployment rate will likely go WAY up at the end of the census because census jobs are temporary. A major obstacle of collecting unemployment is the voluntary quit as employers usually try to trick or coerce employees into quitting instead of firing them to avoid their being qualified for unemployment. In the case of the census, they will be legally laid off and easily qualify for unemployment insurance when it is over-every last one of them. Even ones that previously held a job they quit from.
7. If they are working and off the unemployment dole I would assume so. It seems that the way the government works is new to all of the right wingers on this site. Politicians are all ambitious and have egos to match. It has been this way since the start of our nation. Our founding fathers were no different.
