Moving to San diego, Which places to go? 10pts awarded to best answer!?

So me, my husband and our newborn are going to move to Cali, and would like San diego. We currently live in Orlando Florida, i was born here and i just want to change it up. He is a cop with a 4yr degree, I'm a Nurse (LPN), once i move and claim residence ill be getting my RN, anyway I was looking at places on craigslist, and like Oceanside, and their prices are pretty reasonable. I also own a Americna pitbull terrier (male sweetheart!) but i heard rumors they are banned (yet see 100'S of people that own pitbulls in cali) I was just wondering what area would be the best to move too, for a young couple, with a new family oh we also have good credit and in early 20's, and LOVE culture and the beach Anyhelp would be amazing we would be out of our elimate and no idea whats going on. Id like somewhere very close to the beach, hosptials, good schools. Also in Florida we make 7400 month (almost 90k year) which in Cali we would make more, but only because cost of living is higher in cali, we are looking to spend under 3kfor rent

  1. i would recommend la jolla or UTC area, because it is close a great beach but it can be pricey. oceanside is a nice area too. and no pitbulls are not ban in california! that's ridiculous.
  2. 1. Pitbulls are NOT banned in Cali! What a silly rumor... 2. La Jolla, Point Loma, Oceanside, and Pacific Beach are all great places to live with a family by the beach. Do your homework! Google these places, and see if you like what they are about. (i.e., the prices of living there, family-friendliness, etc.)
  3. San Diego is beautiful! Definetly check out La Jolla. But if S.D. is up to your standards, check out Orange County. It's a good hour away from San Diego and it's really great, close to the beach (in some parts like Hunington Beach where I live). Theres so many things to do in O.C. (disneyland!)
  4. imperial beach(obviously because it close to the beach) or chula vista because its a great place for a family to live and it isn't to far from the beach
  5. You are leaving secure good paying jobs to move to the second worst unemployment in the country? My number one tip is not to move until you have jobs lined up already because there are no jobs here right now, especially for government jobs.
  6. Be wary of Oceanside. There are parts that have a lot of gang activity and the schools are bad. It's the least desirable place to live in the North County Coastal area. Try a little further south in Carlsbad and Encinitas. The western areas of Vista and San Marcos are another option. There is a lot of new housing in the area. http://www.beachcalifornia.com/encinit.html The second best school district in the county is San Dieguito which encompasses most of the North County Coastal communities (excluding Oceanside) http://www.sduhsd.k12.ca.us/
