- Don't trust the craigslist or kijiji site for buying ANY animals. ANY reputable breeder in their right mind would know you should not sell a dog before it is 8 weeks old and it is illegal if they do. Reputable breeders encourage the fact that it's atLEAST 10 weeks old is when most sell them. Take him to the Vet.
- Never buy from a person who breaks the craigslist rules. Animals sold on craigslist are only for rehoming fees. In other words, just to rehome them. Not to promote bad breeding practices. Very bad, irresponsible person that breeder is. Never buy from anyone that would sell puppies before 8 weeks of age, and never buy from anyone who would sell puppies to just anyone. Take her to the Emergency Vet NOW. When you get back, research Back Yard Breeders, Puppy Mills, etc. Edit: There should be a 24 hour emergency vet somewhere. Call your vet's answering machine and get the name, number, and address of the emergency vet.
- that is not good take her to the VET try to look for one open on the weekends!
- You can cook white rice for the puppy and give a cup or two of it too her... this helped my puppy ... make sure it is not too hot 4 her
- thats parvo, research or get to a vet, and FAST. you can give pedialyte, baby gravol, and soak him/her in water, but im not going to lie it sounds fairly progressed
- can you get in contact with another pitbull breeder? the one you have bought your dog from sounds unrealiable. there should be an emergency vet clinic near you, try giving them a call. Also i gave my doberman pup gatorade to help with hydration when she was throwing up a lot. So if you cant get him drinking water than try this. but dont get the red or orange one because its the same colour as blood.
- Bloody diarrhea is a sign of parvo. You better get him to a vet. Other signs are lethargy, not eating, and a very high fever.
- Yes, when irresponsible greedy people breed their dogs for $$ and discover that it's not so easy to pawn off their litter, they turn to the newspaper and craigslist. Sounds like the pup has parvo. If you want him to survive, you'll get him to an emergency vet ASAP. A 6-week pup is too young for most dog owners to raise properly. And a 6-week pup is incapable of surviving parvovirus without veterinary help.
- No, don't give her gatorade. It has sugar in it and it's for people, not dogs. If you think she is dehydrated, you can give her small amounts of Pedialite mixed with water. You need to mix her food with a puppy formula to soften it and give her extra nutrients, too. Bottom line, this puppy is too young to be away from her litter. Blood in the stool is never a good sign and in a puppy that young it could quite possibly parvo. The pup hasn't had any shots yet and I doubt the breeder took any precautions to prevent the pups from catching the virus. While it's possible that she's just having difficulty adjusting the new food or a new environment, that doesn't usually cause bloody stool, just diarrhea. Normally I'm not this blunt in my answers, but if you do not get that puppy to a vet with 24 hours, and she does turn out to have the parvo virus, you might lose her. If you can't handle it, take her back to the breeder.
- That puppy is to young. Get it to an emergency vet ASAP!
- it is probably intestinal worms. bring ur pup to the vet to check for worms. she is ready for her first set of shots anyways
- First of all this puppy should still be with Mom and littermates. In most states it is actually illegal to sell a pup under 8 weeks and if the pup was sick when you got it you may want to look into the puppy lemon laws in your state. Now you need to take this puppy to an emergency vet if yours isn't open until Monday. If this pup has parvo Monday may be to late.
- You need to find an emergency vet, now.
