What specific items would i need to move to Los Angeles?

Me and a friend are planning to move to Los Angeles soon and we were wondering besides money, which we are saving a good 5,000, what else would we need to survive. We been looking up jobs on craigslist to make sure we can at least find some job to survive...Is there anything else we should know or do?

  1. you, your belongings, and a piece of cardboard that says "Will work for money and food" Its hard to find a job in los angeles
  2. houses are expensive jobs are hard to find its economy sucks but i wanna live there soooo bad i gotta suggest you get everything set before going and keep an emergency fund while living there cause if you or your roomate get fired you need something to survive off of cause like i said jobs are hard to find and rent is expensive but go for it if you want but its not gonna be easy just saying you'd probably be better off in dallas or houston they have the best economy in the us right now and there fun to
  3. You'll need more than 5 grand, that's for sure. Are you at least 18 years old? If not, you won't even be able to think about renting an apartment. Do you have any marketable work skills? The state has about a 14% unemployment rate, maybe even worse in metro L.A. Essentially, you will need a soul that is armored like an Abrams tank.
  4. A Beretta 9 MM and a Bullet proof vest.
  5. I'm glad you will at least be coming here with money. However, it won't last long. Understand, without education or job skills, you won't be able to find a job making much more than minimum wage. With rents averaging $1100 a month, you can see that even if you split costs, you're paycheck won't go far. And with unemployment rate hovering around 13%, the available jobs are going to go to those with experience or connections. Best to use your money to get some job skills.
  6. A SHOTGUN... MOBERG PREFERABLY ONE THAT HOLDS AT LEAST 10 SHELLS OH AND A DESERT EAGLE 50 CAL. PISTOL. THAT SHOULD KEEP YOU SAFE
  7. Job, wheels, friend to get to know peeps, and a sense of where in giant LA you want to live??
  8. A map, a friend, patience and a car (or a canister of mace). If you have limited funds, I recommend finding the right apartment by a strong mass transit artery. Consider living near one of the subway lines. The red line is strong. If you want to travel downtown, k-town, hollywood or universal city, you can do that on the red line. This is in case you need to save money. Don't party when you get here. Hustle for that job or else the city will chew you up and spit you out.
