A good apartment to live in Las Vegas, NV.?

I have a dog who is probably 50 lbs. We are planning to move to Las Vegas, Nevada soon. I have been looking for apartments online and the reviews about the apartments are awful. Any good locations and apartments places in Las Vegas, Nevada? I know that their isn't a such thing called "safe" apartments but a close to a "safe" apartment and who accepts a dog that is 50 lbs and a clean apartment. I appreciate all of your time. I'm looking for a 1 bed room and 1 bath room with a flexible lease.

  1. Vegas only has a few actual apartments. Most are condo type rentals. Rule of thumb is the further from the strip the better you are. Most rentals that do accept dogs will charge a pet fee for each animal. Also the size may be a problem. You might be better off renting a house. Look in Craigslist.
  2. for some safer areas check out Summerlin or Green Valley. I used to live in Summerlin and it wasn't that bad at all. Most places, especially one bedrroms, will only allow a dog up to about 25lbs. So finding a place that'll allow bigger might be hard. maybe check out renting a condo, i'm doing that in So Cal right now and i can have any kind of dog i want. might have lesser retrictions renting a condo from somebody cause you are renting from one person(not a complex).Sometimes its easier. Good luck....
  3. Well don't worry, I'll give you the lowdown. Stay away from downtown, the east side, the southeast, North Las Vegas, Sunrise Manor, the south side, and Chinatown. Generally, the further West, the better. Preferably West of the 215 in Summerlin, or at least West of Rainbow Blvd (although some shootings have been happening in that area too recently). Some say Henderson is okay, but I wouldn't live there. If you do, the further away from Boulder Highway, the better. So basically, the only area I would look at is West of I-215 lol.
