and start djing in nightclubs,ballroom parties etc? also what the average salary for a regular DJ

  4. Probably like 30 as an independent because of the cost of professional gear (I have over $12, 000 invested) For a sub-contractor, hired by a DJ broker, a lot younger, but the pay isn't so good. I was 48 when I started out - cheaply!
