Does anyone know of programs that help homeless persons living within New York City find affordable housing?

I am not talking about shelters, I am asking if there are programs who can help homeless unemployed adults/families find affordable apartments in which the city or a service pays for them, or they help them to find employment. Thanks for any answers.

2. NYC is filled with housing projects, apply with the housing authority. Unless you are disabled you have to work though, they are not there for the chronically lazy.
