Employment agencies the have a right to ask for Social Security Numbers for a Background Checks?

I went 6 employment agencies for work and nobody even gave me work their have the right to asking for my social securiry?t

  1. Anyone can ask for anything. If you don't give it to them, they probably won't help you.
  2. Employer's have the right to ask for your SSN. You have the right to refuse. They have the right not to give you any work.
  3. There's a form from the US Federal Government called the I-9. All employers are required to get it from new employees. It asks for your name, social security number, etc. If you don't want to give your social security number, no company can legally hire you.
  4. I doubt it for a background check. You seem illiterate.
  5. The employment agencies are doing the background check for all of the perspective employers they place people in so they are the ones doing the background and drug test. No one gave you work because you may not be qualified or available for the specific openings they have.
