- CKC-contineltal kennel club AKC-american kennel club
- it is quite possible it is the continental kennel club which is not a reputable breed registry http://www.continentalkennelclub.com/registration.aspx AKC is the american kennel club which is a reputable legit registry that you have to prove pedigree.
- It means they are poorly bred. Any dog can get ConcKC papers - they are meaningless papers. AKC is no guarntee of quality only saying dog is a purebred & shows their lineage. CKC only means the owner paid the fee. I wouldn't waste my time or money on those puppies or any BYBs pups.
- Seeing as they're posting in TEXAS, they have a genetically sick husky that can't be registered with a REAL registry, such as the AKC or UKC, so they're registered with the Con.KC, the Continental Kennel Club, which is a worthless fake "club" that puppy millers use because they've been kicked out of AKC or can't truthfully produce AKC papers for their dogs. CKC dogs in America could very well not be dogs at all - those papers could equally belong to a hamster or a plaid couch, as this "registry" requires nothing to sign up but a small fee. Be aware that if you get a CKC dog in America, you'll likely be dealing with a poor temperament and a double hip replacement, at least. CKC in Canada is a well-bred dog (not the ONLY signifier, but the first thing to look for), as the CKC is the Canadian Kennel Club in our brothers up north. @ quick - my goodness, how did you ever get a TC badge with the incorrect stuff you're spewing?? "They are both dog registries. Neither is better than the other." ~ Well, no, that's completely false. The American CKC is a FAKE REGISTRY that will register ANYTHING as a dog - a cell phone, a lamp, a gerbil, etc. It is popular with scuzzy backyard breeders (those who sell dogs online and through the newspaper and craigslist/hoobly/kijiji/etc.) and puppy mills because they require nothing factual or real to register. That's a FACT. "whenever someone tries to pass off their opinion as indisputable fact, you have to question their motives." ~ My motives for stating this FACT? The fact that I've met hundreds of genetically sick purebreds and mongrels, deliberately bred by scuzzy backyard breeders/puppy mills who don't give a damn about their welfare. It hurts the dogs, and it hurts the dogs' owners. "CKC is a legitimate dog registry and these are false and malicious accusations" ~ No. This is FACT, substantiated many, many times over. You must work for the CKC, or perhaps you have a puppy mill operation yourself and aren't turning as many bucks nowadays as people become educated? To the OP - I don't support bad breeding, and I encourage others to do so likewise. By giving people money for being ignorant and breeding sick dogs, you're REWARDING them. The only way I'd ever have a BYB/puppy mill dog is if I were ADOPTING one from a rescue or pound; the money goes to an honest rescue, which in turn helps more dogs.
- AKC is the American Kennel Club. They are the "good" registry. They do inspections and are the registry that you want your pups to be registered with. CKC is the Continental Kennel Club. They are a BAD registry. They will literally register ANYTHING. I could register my left shoe with the CKC and they wouldn't know the difference. Don't get anything from these people. If your mom wants a Husky, tell her to do more research into breeders. These people are obviously back yard breeders and don't know what they are doing. This means those puppies probably have genetic defects and/or are very unhealthy.
- CKC...Continental Kennel Club... is a bogus registration mainly used by BYB. ANYONE can register ANY of their dogs with CKC without proof of lineage. (NOT to be confused with CKC...Canadian Kennel Club...but from ad I am suspecting the former.) Find a reputable AKC breeder...you'll know what your getting
- CKC will be either the Canadian Kennel Club or the Continental Kennel Club. If it's Canadian, it's good. If it's Continental, it's bad. Continental is a sham registry for puppy mills and lousy backyard breeders.
- CKC isn't "bad" AKC isn't "good" They are just different. They are both dog registries. Neither is better than the other. Some people register their dogs with one, some people with the other. Its like a sports team, you just KNOW that the one you like is better. whenever someone tries to pass off their opinion as indisputable fact, you have to question their motives. CKC is a legitimate dog registry and these are false and malicious accusations
- If I was shopping for a pure-bred show/companion dog, I would not purchase one with the ContinentalKC. If you don't have dogs registered with another registry they let you submit 3 pictures of your dog with 2 "witness statements" in order to register your dog as a pure-bred. So I could hypothetically have a 6 mo old mutt that looks like a specific breed and register it as such as long as I can get some of my friends to vouch for it. If you don't care about having a "pure-bred" then it really doesn't matter. There's nothing wrong with mutts, some people just have a preference for one over another.
