Do you think $500 + utilities is an ok price to rent a room in Orange County CA?

I'm looking to rent a room in OC, CA. The price I got quoted is 500 for a small room 10x10 feet. plus around 60 bucks in utilities? Does this sound fair? YES, I have looked at the rooms at Craigslist in the area so yes, but I would STILL like to hear other people's opinions. So please don't tell me just to research and look at rates for the area. I have been doing that for 50 hours this week already. Also, supposedly, this is a discounted rate....
