Is anyone doing the social work degree program at US Career Institute?

Wanting any information available from pros to cons. I'm thinking about doing this and want to know if anyone has had success after graduating. Is this a good choice to make??

  1. There are two types of accreditation any school you look at for social work must have - regional accreditation, and a certain type of professional accreditation. To be able to become a licensed social worker, you need a bachelors degree from a CSWE accredited program. That's the type of professional accreditation I was talking about. US Career Institute would be an extremely poor choice - they are not CSWE accredited. Please look here for a complete list of accredited programs: http://www.cswe.org/Accreditation/organizations.aspx Without CSWE accreditation for your program, you cannot be licensed, and you cannot work as a social worker. In terms of other fields, just FYI: any school you look at should be, specifically, regionally accredited. US Career Institute is "accredited", but as a distance learning "school". Since it doesn't have regional accreditation, you can't transfer your credits to other schools, and your degree won't be recognized by certain employers and by reputable schools. Do not go to US Career Institute, please.
