Does one need a Bachelor's degree to be a parking Attendant?

There's a job listed by the North Carolina Employment Security Commission for parking attendant. I applied and got a referance letter back saying that I don't meet the requirements and that one needs a bachelor's degree for this job. I have an Associates degree in business management, and I was a parking attendant in New York City BEFORE I graduated!!! WTF???

  1. It seems pretty ridiculous that you need a bachelor's degree to qualify for that type of job. I'd think an Associate's degree would be enough. But, it may depend on the employer.
  2. Perhaps it's because it's the security commission. Since so many people are looking for jobs, it's an employer's market. They receive way too many applicants for each position and have to weed out a lot before deciding who to interview. Sounds like people with bachelor's degrees applied, or there's some requirement for the degree to work at that company/agency. Don't give up, keep applying elsewhere.
