i dont like the college im going to, is it easy to change to a different one?

im going to a community college, i already have and am taking college classes at my community college (chabot), would it be hard to switch to another college like devry or western career college for example? im getting financial aid from the college im currently attending if that has to do with anything. im not 100% sure if i want to do this, but i just want to see if i have any options available on what i want to do with my future in terms of education. thank you.

  1. I wouldn't recommend switching from a CC where you're getting financial aid to a for-profit school like DeVry. If anything, switch to another CC or stick it out at the one you already attend and then transfer to a better school. Edit: Depending on what your grades look like it can be fairly easy (if the school accepts a lot of people and/or your grades are good) or fairly difficult (if the school is selective and/or your grades are poor). You can get into for-profit schools as long as you have a pulse.
  2. Please don't go to one of those scam schools if you are already enrolled in a real college! Community college is just the first two years - get your basic general ed requirements out of the way there and transfer to the university of your choice.
  3. I have to agree with the other two people who have posted responses to your question so far. It would be easy to get into some place like DeVry or Western Career College, because they will take anyone who can either pay tuition or get financial aid, but I would definitely not recommend it. For one thing, you would have to start over from scratch. For another, these schools don't have a very good reputation, and what they are known for is charging a lot for what they offer. You could certainly go to another community college, but I would recommend staying away from for-profits like the ones you mention.
  4. I concur with everyone above. Don't switch to another school like Devry or Western career college. What Neniaf said is 100% true those for profit schools will take you as long as you have a pulse and can pay or get financial aid. If i were you i would stick it out at your community college and then transfer to a better school. However, if you just absolutely hate your community college you could switch to another community college.
