Do you have to start as a loader at UPS or can do another position?

I looked up the different UPS jobs and there's loader/unloader,sorter,smalls,irregulars,etc. But from what i've heard you have to get certified for sorter,i don't know about the other ones.After orientation,how do they decide who does what? I'm tired of you people answering with these bogus sites to go to.
