looking for a free Government Grant?

I am looking for a grant to do home improvements on our home. The house is very old and needs work. I know there are grants to do this I just need direction. I don't want to purchase those grant kits either. I don't want a $50 a month fee. Thanks!

1. Any site that promises you grants will be a scam. In truth, some cities have grants for what you are looking for. Grants.gov If you live in a historical area, you can get a grant to restore your old home. That's about it. /
2. You're not going to find one. They don't exist.
3. There are no grants for home improvements, unless you mean energy tax credits and that is when you buy and install certain qualified energy efficiency items. I am amazed by the number of people that would rather spend their time chasing imaginary "free" money (which are 99.9% scams) rather than thinking how they can contribute something to our society and economy and actually EARN money.
4. There is no such thing. The guy in the clown suit on your teevee lied to you. The only government grants for individuals are for education.
5. The grants that exist for this are for historical buildings. There are also a few for low income families for specific things, like windows, they are managed by the power companies. Call them up and see what programs exist for your location and how to qualify.
