Virginia Employment Commission?

Does anyone know if I have exhausted my benefits with Virginia Employment Commission do I need to go to their local office for the extension or they call me to verify or they send a form to be filled out? Pl.s answer me ONLY if your unemployed in Virginia. Thanks alot for your help.
