What to do when craigslist seller does not honor his receipt?

I bought an xbox 360 off a guy on craigslist, he wrote on it that he guarantee's it to work for 1 year, it got the e74 error, and he will not pick up my calls or respond to my text/emails. It's been over a month now that I've been trying to work this out. Is there anyway to legally force him (in a way that is less expensive then 150$) to honor the document that he has written/dated/signed?

  1. File an action in small claims court, send Craigslist a subpoena for the guy's personal information, send him a copy of the lawsuit. Or call your local office of the Attorney General's bureau of consumer protection and see if they can help. All paid for by taxpayers' dollars.
  2. Small Claims Court. You represent yourselves before a judge. No costs involved other than gas and time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_claims_court
