Fairfax County has good schools the price of housing drops as you get further away from the city.
You'll need to look way out, in the outer suburbs, to find that combination. Closer in, you either have affordable housing or good schools, rarely both.
depends on your definition of affordable and how far you want to commute. Fairfax county and Montgomery county boast great schools and is cheaper than living in the district.
