When exactly are taxpayers supposed to stop propping up jobs that wouldn't exist without gov't subsidies?
Are we supposed to support them in perpetuity, like the "Green Energy" industry which will never stand on its own?

- Dunno. Same question could apply to farmers. Also, all badgers should beware the Buckeye.
- When big business and their paid lackey republicans stop off shoring 250,000 jobs a year.
- Well , if you want to attack a REAL cancer then go after lobbyists .
- Well, many of those jobs that are being propped up are government workers, like firemen, teachers, cops, child protective workers, road crews, things that would have been eliminated as states haven't the funds for them anymore. Larger class sizes, beaten kids, fires, more gang takeovers and drugs would be the result and people would yell bloody murder. By the way, those firemen, teachers, cops, social workers also pay taxes. Green energy is in its infancy, and if we don't develop the technology China will, and they will charge us through the nose for it too as oil becomes more expensive and less available. You don't always show a profit in the first few years and this is one place we need to develop more with a long term idea in mind.
