Why does yahoo hotjobs allow fake employers to post jobs on there website?

Half if not all the of jobs on yahoo hotjobs are fake yes that's right fake even the big companies that claim to be hiring but once you apply you start receiving all types of spam and unwanted phone calls from telemarketers. Why do they allow people to do this? Aren't they suppose to scan the jobs before there posted?

  1. It's just a website. It's your job to report all the scams to them.
  2. Same reason they allow repeat spammers to come back day after day after day with the same spam here at Y!A: They simply don't care enough about their Web sites to police them in any way.
  3. I don't really understand your question. Do you think that it's HotJobs/Monsters job to call every company that posted a position to make sure 1. it's a legitimate company. 2. they are actually planning to hire someone? - I don't think that is really their job. Employers pay money to post on HotJobs/Monster. Not a few dollars - hundreds of dollars. You are probably correct that some companies may be willing to pay this money to get increased telemarketers listing. However, I personally have not experienced it. - Instead of responding to generic listing, do more detailed searching. Additionally, the best way to find a job is very networking. Most jobs are never posted, anywhere. Ask EVERYONE you know if they might be aware of a position for you. When they say "no", ask them if they might know of someone who can help. Then call those people and do the same thing. It takes a thick skin but it does work.
  4. If you read the information you have to agree too when you sign up on these sites, you will see that they claim NO responsibility for the jobs posted on thier sites. They are ONLY a place where businesses can POST jobs...they have no responsibility over if the job is real or fake. As far as spammers are concerned, you have settings on your email and computer to help relieve this problem.
