When will you stop believing that government creats jobs?

Government doesn't create jobs entrepreneurs do. I'm tired of politicians talking about creating jobs (other than government jobs). They need to create a friendly environment for job makers.

Public Comments

  1. the government employees about 20%(maybe less) of americas workforce pal...where are you getting this information?
  2. The government doesn't create jobs. But it can stay out of the way of people that do!
  3. well in the liberal world, see above.they do
  4. "They need to create a friendly environment for job makers" Really? Are you sure they don't need to create a bad environment? lol... The government creates jobs through making contracts with businesses in the private sector. They also create jobs by giving out refundable tax credits to businesses who hire more workers. This is called capitalism. Remember? The economy that you love? And by the way the government provides temporary jobs as well (better than no job)
  5. Hmmm...you have to have a state (or federal, depending on business) license to practice business. You have to pay taxes, do business by government rules and regulations...maybe they don't create the jobs, but you can't have one without them. And what they do affects you business, such as raising or lowering your taxes, implementing new laws/regulations. And they most assuredly WOULD create jobs if they got off of their asses and closed the borders so that greedy, underhanded, opportunistic business owners would have to stop employing illegals as cheap labor, opening the doors for legal citizens to find gainful employment again.
  6. Why don't the morons who think creating government jobs get the fact that government jobs increase the size and cost of government. Government jobs do not create wealth they just create more tax burden, and EVENTUALLY the socialist democrat progressives will run out of OTHER people's money. Why is that so damn hard to comprehend, it is not rocket science it is basic math with a little human nature thrown in. Take away a persons incentive to work and create they will stop working and creating
  7. No history education? TVA, Interstate highway system, thousands of bridges, dams, etc..... Stop watching ONLY Fox. It's not the major job source but clearly you are wrong. Also, small businesses are determined to be so by the number of employees not revenues. Therefore, what you think of as a mom and pop may actually be a hedge fund or venture capital firm that makes a billion dollars. These people have gotten lots of tax breaks and created no jobs. Wanna keep giving them free money to buy another 6 Ferarris?
  8. They do create government jobs, and those jobs pay for people to work and they pay taxes. Now here is something you may not be considering, Lets take an office job, it requires paperwork, letterheads, office furniture, janitors, machinery and repair people, none of whom are directly on the government payroll, but who stay in business due to the government using their products. Lets take a road project, again its not just the road crew, its the planners, architects, designers, the people who manufacture the signs, and the maintenance crew. All working, taxpayers. Who can then go out and buy homes, appliances, cars. Adding to the economy. Entrepreneurs at their beginning create very few jobs, in fact most of them go out of business, and that's the way its always been. They also tend to have very small payroll of minimum wage jobs. In a way its a circle, the more people you have employed, government or otherwise, the more people will have money to spend, and when they spend their money, they keep small businessmen in business.
